A PEACEFUL BANDH AT UTTAR DINAJPUR

Webdesk, TNI Raiganj, 2nd September, 2015: Bandh remained peaceful in the entire district of Uttar Dinajpur. The private establishments remained closed. The administration had deployed paramilitary forces at Raiganj town to avert any sort of untoward incident. Though provocation and anti-provocation went on throughout the day by various political parties, but no major incidents took place. Government institutions remained open but the attendance of the students was almost nil in those schools. Markets, shopping establishment remained closed. At the end of the day, the administration heaved a sigh of relief because no major incidents were reported.
